ABIA BEGINS LOCAL GOVERNMENT WORKERS' VERIFICATION MONDAY

The Abia State Government has initiated the verification process for all Local Government workers in the state. This undertaking is part of the ongoing efforts by Dr. Alex Otti's administration to establish a comprehensive database encompassing all state, local government, parastatal, and state-owned tertiary institution workers, including pensioners. The aim is to prevent any irregularities in the management of human resources and payroll processes within the state.

The verification exercise began last week with the online verification of state civil servants facilitated by Appmart Integrated Ltd. In a statement issued by the State Head of Service, Lady Joy Maduka, it was announced that the verification exercise for local government employees would commence from Monday, August 7, 2023, and continue until Monday, August 14, 2023.

The individuals affected by this exercise include staff members of the Local Government Council, Local Government Health Authority, and Local Government Education Authority across the 17 Local Government Areas of Abia State.

To participate in the verification process, employees are required to log in to the online verification portal at www.abia.live and upload specific documents such as the First School Leaving Certificate, Letter of First Appointment/Notification of Appointment, Confirmation of Appointment, Last Promotion, Evidence of Age (Birth Certificate/Age Declaration), All Academic Qualifications, and Evidence of Name Change if applicable.

Upon completion of the online verification, employees are instructed to print two copies of their online particulars. These printed documents will be required for the physical verification exercise scheduled on the designated dates.

For further information, employees are encouraged to contact the Verification Committee members, Payroll Officers, or call the support line at 09137777018.
