AS GOVERNOR OTTI’S CATERPILLAR REVOLUTION HITS THE 30 KILOMETERS AROCHUKWU - NDIOKEREKE - OZUABAM ROAD AND THE 11.5 KILOMETERS NUNYA -ELUAMA -ISUIKWUATO ROAD

The tortuous journey of Abians going through Akwa Ibom State to access Arochukwu part of the State and the people living and earning their livelihood in the area accessing other parts of the State through Akwa Ibom will soon become a thing of the past as Governor Alex Otti’s caterpillar revolution hits the 30 kilometers deplorable Arochukwu - Ndiokereke - Ozuabam Road. The flag-off is slated to hold today 20th March, 2024.

While previous governments turned blind eyes to the terrible state of the 30 kilometers Arochukwu - Ndiokereke - Ozuabam Road and the plights of Abians going through Akwa Ibom to access that part of the State because of bad road, the people-centered government of Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has come to the rescue. That forgotten part of the State that was made to access other parts of the State through Akwa Ibom State has been remembered and given a sense of belonging in our dear State.

After the flag off of the road today and in addition to the 11.5 Kilometer Nunye-Eluama-Isiukwuato road that would be flagged off for construction in a few days ahead, the Abia State Government would have embarked on over 100 kilometers of road network in the Abia North Zone of the State. Just recently, on the 7th of February 2024, Governor Alex Otti flagged off the reconstruction and dualization of the deplorable 67.64 km Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Abiriba-Ohafia road. The road was awarded to 3 different contractors to ensure quality and timely completion. Before the flag-off of the 67.64 km road, the Governor Alex Otti-led administration had already flagged off the construction of the 19.5 km Okai-Akaeze Item Road in Bende Local Government Area that links Akaeze Ebonyi State.

In Abia Central Zone of the State, the reconstruction and expansion to 6 lanes of Ossah road from Okpara Square to Express Tower, down to Onuimo the Abia State Boundary with Imo State is ongoing. The reconstruction and expansion to 6 lanes of the Umuikaa to Owerrinta boundary of Abia State with Imo State has started. The reconstruction and dualization of the Umuikaa-Umuene road, traversing different communities down to Omoba where the Isiala South Local Area headquarters is situated is ongoing.

Very soon earthmoving equipment will move to site for the construction of the 19.1 kilometers Itungwa - Mgboko - Amairi - Amaise - Ahiaba ubi - Nkwo Elechi - Omoba road being done in conjunction with the World Bank.

Work is almost completed at Umuodu from Osisioma Junction, through College Road down to University Road which also connects MCC junction where you have First Bank in Abayi Aba. This work is done with standard drainage system which has an underground tunnel from the International Early Learning Center through University Road to channel stormwater from the area into the Aba River.

In Aba, the commercial never center of the State, 9 Roads have been reconstructed and commissioned for public use by the 9-month-old administration of Governor Otti. Work is seriously progressing at the abandoned Strategic Port Harcourt Road being contracted to Julius Berger Construction Company. The same goes for Omuma Road which the administration of Governor Alex Otti, is not only reconstructing but dualizing after decades of abandonment. Work is also earnestly progressing at the second phase of the Cemetery Market Aba having completed and commissioned the first phase for public use.

Only yesterday, Governor Otti, while returning from facility tour of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) Alaoji, visited Ariaria International Market where he announced that his administration has awarded the construction of the internal road from the Enugu Port Harcourt junction entrance/exit of the market to the Faulks Road entrance/exit of the road. Right there too, the Governor announced that he has given a marching order that the Mountainous refuse dump blocking the free flow of water each time it rains at Ariaria Market thereby contributing hugely to the flooding of the market be leveled within one week. This will allow rainwater to flow easily to the right channels and reduce the incidence of flooding in the market.

The people living and doing their businesses at Obohia and Ohanku roads in Aba should know that they are not forgotten. Very soon the caterpillar revolution of Governor Otti will hit their area, likewise other parts of the State. It will definitely not get to all at once but E go reach everybody. Today, 20th March, it is the turn of the people of Arochukwu - Ndiokereke - Ozuabam Road, in a few days, e go reach the 11.5 Kilometer Nunye-Eluama-Isiukwuato Road.

Governor Alex Otti is running a people-centered Government cocooned in egalitarianism. He is walking his electioneering campaign talks. To say that help is here is stating the obvious. To say that Abia is being rebuilt is also stating the obvious. The caterpillar revolution says it all. Abia is now a leading construction site in Nigeria.
