The Abia State Government has officially bestowed the Staff of Office upon HRM Prince Eberechukwu Oji, the newly selected Eze Aro IX. The presentation ceremony, held at the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs headquarters, witnessed the Commissioner, Prince Uzor Nwachukwu charging the Eze Aro to uphold peace, unity, law, and order while governing with a sense of responsibility before God.

The Commissioner emphasized that the government played no role in selecting the new Eze Aro, underscoring adherence to the constitution's guidelines for Autonomous Communities in the State. He commended the resilience of the Aro People during the selection process, which underwent scrutiny by a panel of inquiry and received approval through a government-issued white paper.

Addressing the people of Arochukwu, Prince Nwachukwu urged them to embrace peace, lauding their commitment to following constitutional processes. He extended congratulations to the Eze Aro and the Arochukwu people for their accomplishment.

During the ceremony, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Florence Nwogu, and the Director of Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Chuka Agomuo, affirmed that the Aro people adhered to tradition and due process in selecting their new Eze.

Expressing gratitude for the resolution of the ezeship tussle, Eze Aro, Eze Eberechukwu Oji, pledged to lead a peaceful, inclusive, and righteous government. He envisioned a new era for Arochukwu, striving to make the kingdom a model of traditional Igbo leadership that embraces unity and prosperity.

The event attracted notable figures, including the new Eze Ibom Isii, the President General of Nzuko Arochukwu Worldwide, and various prominent Aro sons and daughters.
