GOVERNOR ALEX OTTI'S COMMITMENT TO A JUDICIARY-FRIENDLY ABIA STATE

GOVERNOR ALEX OTTI'S COMMITMENT TO A JUDICIARY-FRIENDLY ABIA STATE

In the ongoing pursuit of upholding the dignity and effectiveness of the Judiciary in Abia State, Governor Alex Otti has once again demonstrated his unwavering support. Just three months ago, during her birthday celebration hosted by the Abia State Government, Her Lordship, Justice Lilian Abai, remarked, "This is the first time the Judiciary will be getting what is due to her in full." These words reflected the anticipation surrounding the Governor's promise to provide the Judiciary with the respect and care it rightly deserves.

In a significant step towards fulfilling this promise, Governor Otti, represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Celeb Ajagba PhD, recently handed over five INNOSON G6 Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to five High Court judges who had been serving without official vehicles for nearly four years. The presentation of these vehicles to the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Lilian Abai, at the State High Court Umuahia, reaffirmed Governor Otti's commitment to supporting and cooperating with the judiciary to ensure its efficient functioning.

His unwavering dedication to a judiciary-friendly administration continues to earn him accolades, not only from the legal community but also from the broader Abia State population. Justice Abai, in turn, handed over the keys of the vehicles to the deserving beneficiaries, including Justice Ogbonna Adiele, Justice Chimezie Nwakanma, Justice Enyinnaya Okezie, Justice Okoronkwo, and Justice Philomena Nweke. This gesture received warm appreciation from the judges, with Justice Enyinnaya Okezie expressing gratitude on behalf of his colleagues, vowing to put the vehicles to good use.

The presence of the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Ikechukwu Uwanna, and other government officials during the presentation highlighted the collective commitment to ensuring that the Judiciary in Abia State functions effectively and with the support it deserves. This significant move represents a positive step forward in establishing a judiciary that is not only well-respected but also adequately equipped to carry out its essential duties.

With these official vehicles, the judges can now better serve the citizens of Abia State while experiencing improved working conditions, exemplifying the Governor's dedication to fostering a judiciary that thrives and continues to be friendly to justice seekers.
