Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, held a closed-door meeting on Wednesday with the heads of various security agencies operating in the State. The meeting, chaired by the Governor, aimed to address important security matters and foster collaboration among the agencies.
Among the distinguished attendees were the Corps Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), CC Paul Igwebuike; Captain SK Ogogo, Commandant of the Nigerian Navy College of Administration and Finance, Owerrinta; and Mr. Friday A. Onuche, the State Director of the Department of State Services (DSS).
The meeting also saw the presence of the Abia State Commissioner of Police, CP Kene Onwuemelie; Brig Gen NJ Edet, Commander of the 14 Brigade located in Ohafia; and Navy Commander Mac Donald Uba (rtd), who serves as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters.
During the closed-door session, the participants engaged in discussions regarding various security challenges faced by the state and exchanged ideas on how to enhance security efforts. The meeting served as a platform for open dialogue, enabling the attendees to share insights, strategies, and concerns while aligning their efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of the people of Abia State.
Together, they explored ways to strengthen interagency cooperation, information sharing, and joint operations to tackle existing and emerging security threats. The aim of this collaborative effort is to maintain peace, protect lives and property, and create a secure environment conducive to the social and economic development of Abia State.
The meeting highlighted the commitment of the Abia State Government, led by Governor Alex Otti, to prioritize and improve security infrastructure, foster synergy among security agencies, and proactively address security concerns throughout the state.
As the closed-door meeting concluded, all parties expressed optimism regarding the outcomes and pledged their unwavering dedication towards ensuring the safety and security of Abia State.
