COMMISSIONER EMPHASIZES IMPORTANCE OF GROUP FOR CURRENT ADMINISTRATION'S SUCCESS

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Uzor Nwachukwu, recognizes the Forum of Heads of Budget Planning, Research, and Statistics of the 17 Local Government Areas as a critical group for the success of the present administration. 

During a courtesy visit by the group to his office, Hon Nwachukwu expressed his happiness and called on them to utilize their expertise in formulating well-articulated budgets for the local government areas in the state.

Emphasizing the importance of the group's role in grassroots management and development, Hon Nwachukwu urged them not to relent in their efforts to ensure the success of the present administration. The Chairman of the Forum, Mr. Okore Darlington Kalu Irem, thanked the Commissioner for his warm reception and highlighted their partnership in the development of local councils in line with the state government's vision.

Mr. Irem lamented the neglect of the Forum's input over the years and requested that the government provide an enabling environment for the group to carry out its statutory functions. Mr. Nwankpa Ezechi emphasized the significance of the budget as a crucial document for the government and urged all concerned parties to utilize it effectively.

Contributing to the discussion, Deaconess Ihedinachi Janet Nkemdirim, Ibe Onyedikachi, and Ogueji Elekwa Hagin called on the present administration to help restore the Forum's importance in governance.
