EMPOWERING UMUAHIA SOUTH: MAYOR NỌCHIRI ENHANCES SECURITY WITH VEHICLE SCHEME 

In a significant move to bolster security within Umuahia South Local Government Area, the Mayor,  Attorney Ejike Obike Nnochiri, has provided security personnel with Sienna cars and motorcycles. This initiative, unveiled on March 28, 2024, aims to enhance the capability of law enforcement to combat crime and unlawful activities more effectively.

Addressing both the community and security operatives, Mayor Nnochiri highlighted the array of projects his administration has embarked upon to improve the council. He stressed that the vehicle empowerment scheme was crucial for overcoming logistical hurdles in crime prevention and response efforts. Additionally, he called upon the residents of Umuahia South L.G.A. to support these efforts by providing timely and actionable information to help in crime deterrence.

Expressing gratitude towards the Governor for his prompt response and support for the empowerment program, Mayor Nnochiri underscored the positive partnership between the state government and the local government, which has been instrumental in bringing this initiative to fruition.

The event saw the presence of several dignitaries, including Hon. Acho Obioma, the Governor's Special Adviser on Politics; Hon. Comdr. MacDonald Uba, the Governor's Special Adviser on Security Matters; Hon. Ndidi Kingsley Anosike, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning; along with other notable stakeholders.

During the ceremony, Hon. MacDonald Uba, who played a pivotal role in distributing the vehicles and motorcycles, urged the security personnel to make the best use of this new equipment. He also reassured them of the government's unwavering support in their ongoing battle against criminal activities in the state, highlighting the collective commitment to ensuring safety and security for all residents of Umuahia South.
