THE COURT OF APPEAL RESOUNDS IN THE KANO VERDICT

THE COURT OF APPEAL RESOUNDS IN THE KANO VERDICT

In a recent and remarkable turn of events, the Court of Appeal has delivered its verdict in the appeal brought forward by Dr. Alex Otti, who sought to challenge the Federal High Court's decision in Kano. The outcome of the appeal has been unequivocally in favor of Dr. Otti, with the court imposing a 1 million naira cost on the plaintiff.

The pronouncements from the Court of Appeal have resonated noisily, not only in support of Dr. Otti but also as a reprimand to the plaintiff and their legal representatives. Of particular significance is the Court's criticism of the hasty proceedings in the trial court, which failed to include necessary parties fundamental to the very claims within the lawsuit. This impetuous approach by the trial judge has generated severe disapproval.

Moreover, this ruling serves as a pointed reminder to the opposition that their actions have, in effect, cast doubt on their own credibility. Dr. Alex Otti had been accused of characterizing Aba as a "no man's land." However, it is worth noting that these same accusers have, over the years, appointed non-indigenous individuals to govern Aba, often referred to as the "Enyimba City." This glaring contradiction accentuates the hypocrisy within their allegations.

In the face of these legal challenges, our Governor remains unwavering, undaunted by the tumultuous sea of litigation. He has thoroughly embraced the age-old adage, highlighting the importance of approaching justice with clean hands. His unwavering commitment to transparency and accountability serves as a testament to his principled approach in serving the people of Abia.

In conclusion, we celebrate the remarkable faith and unwavering confidence that the people of Abia have bestowed upon their Governor. This mandate symbolizes their profound commitment to the progress and development of our great state. As we forge ahead, we ardently anticipate a future led by visionary leadership, unity, and the collective efforts of all stakeholders assiduously working to make Abia State even greater.
