DISREGARD THE FALSE ALLEGATIONS AGAINST GOVERNOR ALEX OTTI'S PARTY AFFILIATION

We would like to address the baseless allegations being circulated by certain opposition politicians concerning the party affiliation of Governor Alex Otti of Abia State. These individuals, who are currently challenging his victory at the tribunal, falsely claim that the Governor did not resign from the All Progress Congress (APC) before joining the Labour Party, on whose platform he won the Governorship election held on March 18.

Initially, we chose to ignore these fabrications, as we believe in focusing on the important work of governance and not being distracted by frivolous claims. We understand that media sensationalism, self-serving propaganda, and false reports do not hold any weight in court, especially when presented by unpopular candidates with questionable backgrounds. However, in order to alleviate any unwarranted concern among our innocent members, we deem it necessary to clarify the following:

1. Governor Alex Otti did indeed resign from the APC in accordance with the party's constitutional provisions. His resignation letter was submitted and duly acknowledged by the Ward Chairman, who, at the time, was universally recognized as such at all levels.

2. The individual paraded by the defeated APC Governorship candidate, Chief Ikechi Emenike, as the APC Chairman of Ward 5, Isialangwa South LGA, is an impostor who was hired to carry out a failed smear campaign. Both he and his paymasters should be disregarded.

3. The utterly unpopular and decisively defeated candidates from the APC and PDP have come to realize the weakness of their cases in court. Failing to demonstrate even a remote chance of winning the Governorship election, they have resorted to disseminating disinformation and engaging in mischief, hoping to achieve the impossible task of stealing the people's mandate through dishonest means.

4. Lastly, Governor Otti wishes to reassure Abians that the mandate they unanimously bestowed upon him is secure and untouchable. The attempts made by those who see politics as a personal business venture will never succeed in stealing the people's will. The Governor remains committed to serving the people with utmost dedication and sincerity.

We urge the public to remain vigilant against the spread of misinformation and to focus on supporting the Governor's efforts to bring positive change and development to Abia State.
